You’re doing better than you think. And you deserve a moment to exhale, to laugh, and to remember that you are the best kind of adventure.

Stories That Say What’s in Our Hearts

This Mother’s Day feels especially meaningful as I reflect on the journey of creating my own books for moms: Mom, the Heart of It All and Mom, the Soul Behind Our Story. Each page in these books offers a new sentiment and lovely artwork-like a bouquet of greeting cards-meant to capture those things we wish we’d said aloud, or perhaps did, but not nearly often enough. Some are realizations that only come with adulthood, those quiet moments of appreciation for all that mothers do. While crafting these books, I set a simple rule: nothing would go in unless it truly described my own mother-my lifelong superhero-or reflected the kind of mom I strive to be. The process made me think deeply about the mother and grandmothers who shaped my own mom and her sisters, and how the love and wisdom of generations before us echo in every page. These books are my way of honoring that legacy, and of giving families a way to say “thank you” in words and images that last.
